An episode of the Australian pop music series. This episode departs from the usual format of the show to present children lip-syncing kids songs. They did several of these episodes, known as "Junior Bandstand", they were consistently panned by the critics but it seems someone must have liked them, given that they produced at least six of them from 1966 to 1972.  Episode also features Humphrey B. Bear, who is a very popular children's TV character in Australia, his series continued to...

An incomplete episode of the Australian pop music series. If you put this elsewhere, please note it is incomplete.  Performers include: Bobby Cole, Bryan Davies, Johnny Rebb, Patsy Ann Noble, The Delltones, and a very strange act called The Bloopers.  Note: One of the missing bits of footage appears in Patsy Ann Noble's final episode which has been uploaded.    Note: Despite being plugged on this show, "Slicin' Sand Twist" by Bryan Davies only reached #40 on the charts back in...

An episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include: Julie Rogers (yes, the British singer), Sylvia Raye, Alan Dean, Johnny Farnham, and Bev Harrell. Note: there's a bad film splice during one of Farnham's songs, and remarkably that corny song was a huge hit in Australia....mind you, it is rather catchy.  Note: the quality of the kinescope is a bit "worn" at times...

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  Performers include Don Lane, Paul Wayne, The Thin Men, Inez Amaya, Lee Sanders, and Tony Barber. Episode also includes a segment where Brian reads light-hearted news stories.   Note: The final 15 minutes of this episode is taken up by a period costume segment....which I thought was cool, but may seem strange to others.

An episode of the Australian pop music series. This episode is dedicated to hits of 1957-1958. I feel the song selection could have been better.... Performers include: Sylvia Raye, Ja-Ar, Billy Thorpe, The Flanagans, Lee Sanders, Jacki Weaver, and Warren Williams.  Note: Brian Henderson says the show started in 1957. Actually, it started 1958, but Bandstand was preceded by the series "Accent on Youth" (1958), which in turn was preceded by "TV Disc Jockey" (1957-1958).

An incomplete episode of the Australian variety series. An episode of the Australian pop music series. This episode is a clip show featuring clips from various 1965 episodes of the show. Some of these episodes have been uploaded in their entirety. Others have not. It's possible some of these clips come from episodes which no longer exist.  Unfortunately, some of the performers are only presented in very brief clips.   Performers include: Col Joye, Merv Benton, Dinah Lee, Lucky Starr, Johnny Ashcroft, Janice Slater, The Delltones, Bryan Davies,...

An episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include Frankie Davidson, The Allen Brothers, Jimmy Little, Lana Cantrell, Lionel Long, The Four Clefs, Del Shannon.  This episode appears to be a 1963 clip show with excerpts from several earlier episodes.  Note: Once you see Frankie Davidson performing "Yabba-Dabba-Doo", you cannot unsee the segment! (mind you, it is amusing).  I enjoyed the twistin' that appears in several parts of this episode...

An episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include: Bill and Boyd, Laurel Lea, Little Pattie, Janice Slater, Rim D. Paul, The Flanagans, and the Bee Gees.  Note: The Bee Gees segment is a proto music video, something that "Bandstand" did on various occasions.

An incomplete episode of the Australian pop music series. If you put this episode somewhere else, please note it is incomplete.  This episode was shot at Avalon Beach.  Performers include: Judy Stone, the De Kroo Brothers, Laurel Lea, Kevin Todd, and Col Joye. Additionally, "Hangin' Five" by the Delltones is heard.  Although originally shot on videotape, the surviving copy is a kinescope.

An episode of the Australian pop music TV series. Although the series began in 1958, I believe this is one of the earliest surviving episodes.  Performers include: Johnny Devlin, The Graduates, Patti Monroe, Grade Wicker, The Devils, Kim Nichols, The Cherrytones, Rod Devlin, Brian Penglase, and Johnny Byrell. Also featured: several segments of teenagers dancing to American records.  Contains original product placement for Coca-Cola! I hope I got the date correct...I might be mistaken on it.

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  Performers include Anne and Jimmy Murphy, Tony Barber, The Flanagans, The Groop, Sylvia Penzes (not sure of her name, might be mistaken), and Jeff St. John. Additionally, Brian Henderson recites a sort of poem. Plus, the Bandstand Band perform an instrumental.  There's also a segment featuring an interview with an expert on fashion.  Note: this episode was originally recorded on videotape, but the surviving copy is a kinescope.

Convicted killer Calvin Gannis is being escorted to his place of execution but escapes after a road accident. He finds himself in a ghost town, seemingly inhabited by only the widowed Sally and her young son Joey. However, an oak tree which has been dead for decades suddenly starts to grow again, spelling out justice for Gannis. This is an edited-for-syndication print, the only one I could find. It  replaces my earlier incorrect upload.

An incomplete episode of the Australian pop music series.  Performers include Graham Chapman (not the UK actor), John Rowles (aka Ja-Ar), Cathy Warn (aka Cathy Wayne. Sadly, she was murdered in 1969), Helen Reddy, and Billy Thorpe. Robyn Alvarez also appears via two archival clips. Plus, Brian Henderson also "sings" a song.  Note: there's a bad film splice during one of Reddy's songs.  Episodes of this series from 1966 should run approx 50 minutes, so I presume this episode is...

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  This episode is a clip show, featuring clips from earlier episodes of this series. It's very likely that many of these clips come from episodes which no longer exist in their entirety.  Performers include: Sandy Scott, Judy Stone, Laurel Lea, Kevin Todd, Pam Liversidge, Robyn Alvarez, Lorrae Desmond (she had her own show during the early 1960s...very good based on the two episodes I've seen), Jack Jones, Wayne Newton, Freddie Paris, Lucky Starr,...

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  This episode is heavily incomplete. If you link to it or post it elsewhere, please note it is incomplete..... Performers include Ron Polson, Robyn Alvarez, The Delltones, Patty Markham, Bee Gees, and Peter Brandon. Additionally, Col Joye appears in an amusing tennis match. Note: the opening titles feature the call-signs of the stations showing the program (GTV, TCN, CTC, etc....). I find this interesting as call-signs are pretty much no longer...

A 1966 television special from Australia, featuring popular singer Tom Jones performing songs to a studio audience.  Some footage from this special also appeared in the 2 July 1966 edition of "Brian Henderson's Bandstand".  Though originally recorded on videotape, the surviving copy is a kinescope. Recorded in Melbourne (some sources incorrectly state it was recorded in Sydney), I actually checked three different old publications (The Age, Canberra Times, Australian Women's Weekly)...

An episode of the Australian pop music series. This episode departs from the usual format of the show, and consists of a live concert by American folk group Peter, Paul & Mary that was recorded at Festival Hall in Melbourne.   Although originally recorded on videotape, the surviving copy is a kinescope.  Before anyone asks, no, I don't have the rest of the concert.
